Congressional Democratic leaders have finally called for the impeachment of President Trump. The tide is starting to turn against the criminal-in-chief Donald Trump.
Up until now, leaders like House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) have avoided calling for Trump’s impeachment. They’ve even ignored prodding by colleagues like Maxine Waters (D-CA).
Instead, they’ve taken a wait-and-see approach. They claimed they wanted to see where the Russian investigation led first.
Well, apparently they’ve seen enough from our monster president. Trump’s immoral firing of former FBI Director James Comey changed their minds.
Comey was heading up the FBI investigation into the Trump team’s ties with Russia. So Trump acted like a fascist dictator and fired Comey for his “incompetence.”
Congressional Democrats were appalled by this abuse of power. They accused Trump of committing obstruction of justice.
For example, Representative Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) tweeted, “Evidence of Trump’s effort to obstruct justice continues to emerge. Lock HIM up?”

And Representative Jared Huffman (D-CA) tweeted, “Impeachment will happen if handful of Republicans in Congress join Dems to put country above party. Or in 2019 after Dems win the House.”

They also said that the firing of Comey may turn Republicans against Trump. Democrats may soon have enough support in the House of Representatives to start impeachment proceedings.
Let’s just hope we don’t have to wait until 2019 for Trump’s impeachment. More than anything, the Comey case shows just how far Trump will go to secure his power.
For example, we’ve learned over the past week that Trump invited Comey over for dinner soon after taking office. It was an unusual move that made Comey nervous.
Then, at the dinner, Trump asked if Comey would stay loyal to him. But all Comey promised was that he would be honest.
Trump, of course, lied about the events of the dinner and his relationship to Comey. According to Trump, Comey asked for the meeting and begged to keep his job.
Trump also says that Comey told him he wasn’t under investigation. Comey’s associates, however, flatly deny that Comey ever told Trump anything like that.
Republicans are resisting any calls to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Trump. They would rather back a criminal than do what’s right for this country.
Trump is clearly a menace to our nation and something has to be done. But only Congress has the power to remove Trump from office right now.
Republicans need to stop putting their party before their country and join with Democrats to impeach Trump. Please share this story on Facebook if you agree that Trump belongs in jail for his crimes.
